The Danger Of Eating Processed Foods

Posted in : Processed food

(added few months ago!)

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) maintains a list of over 3,000 chemicals that are added to the processed food supply. These compounds do various things to food such as add color to make things look prettier, stabilize the food, texturize it, preserve the food (so it can last for weeks in our cupboard,) sweeten, thicken, add flavor, soften, harden, change the look of the food, make it thicker, thinner, emulsify..........everything but make us healthier.

Think to yourself about how many processed foods you eat....................

Bacon (loaded with nitrites)
Barbecue ribs in a bag
Sauces  (Tartar, catchup, mayo, mustard)
Whipped cream in a spray bottle
Cake mixes
Pancake mixes
Muffin mixes
Mixes to make anything you want
Pie crusts already made

The list goes on.

Even things like fresh carrots and vegetables that SHOULD be 100% good for you have an optional processed food version with the vegetables being cut up for you, peeled and washed already. Don't forget that those vegetables that are cut up for you nice and pretty are also sprayed with chemicals so they can last in your refrigerator for weeks saving you time in having to buy fresh carrots. How convenient!
The World Health Organization (WHO) released a report stating that people should cut out foods that are high in saturated fats, sugar and salt; (otherwise known as processed foods.) The WHO sent out a strong warning saying that disease was not created as much by overeating, but by eating the wrong foods.

Dangers of Processed Foods Include:
The World Health Organization (WHO) states that eating processed foods is the reason why there is such a drastic rise in obesity around the world; linked to all types of health problems.
Processed foods are loaded with high fructose corn syrup (otherwise known as the worst type of sugar there is for your health)
Processed foods have enormous amounts of salt in them; linked to an increased risk of strokes and many other health problems.
Processed foods enormous amounts of chemicals, additives and artificial coloring additives that are difficult to pronounce, and  dangerous for your health. (Numerous studies have pointed out connections linking these additives and chemicals to illness like cancer, diabetes, liver problems, heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, increased colds and asthma)
Processed foods lack any important vitamins, minerals and enzymes; all of which makes people feel tired, sluggish and not as alert throughout the day.
Processed foods "fortify" their food meaning all the nutrients are stripped out of the food and then they put a vitamin back in it as a weak substitute.
Processed foods have labels from the FDA such as GRAS..........Generally Recommended Safe. Is that fine with you...."generally?"
Processed foods have mainly EMPTY calories in them. They don't provide nourishment and they make you fat because you never feel like you got enough.

Processed foods us partially hydrogenated oils  that are very harmful for our health. These oils are molecularly changed oils that are toxic and harmful for our families. It was very soon after companies started using partially hydrogenated oils in their foods that there was a very significant increase in many diseases.
